A highly regarded Interior Designer with a long-standing interest in the history of art and craft of his native Portugal.

His collaborations with Portuguese artisans and ceramicists resulted in several collections of unique and limited-edition Objects, Table Lamps and Wall Lights strong in form and texture and in a contemporary language, using the traditional medium and technique called ‘Barro Negro’ and Portuguese stones such as ‘Rosa’ marble from the Alentejo region each piece made by hand in Portugal.

Rui continues his commitment to create, elevate and promote new pieces in ancient old materials and technics from Portugal from his Comporta base when not working in interior design projects from his London based studio.
