Viggo Kyhn
Viggo Kyhn (1923–1989) was a Danish ceramic artist active in the second half of the 20th century. Born in Næstved, Denmark, he trained within the environment of the renowned Kähler ceramics manufactory, where he undertook an apprenticeship in the early 1960s.
From that period onward, Kyhn developed his own production and opened his studio in Skørping, where he worked until his death in 1989. He is primarily known for his glazed stoneware ceramics, often hand-decorated, including vases, bowls, sculptures, and lamp bases.
His work is part of the Scandinavian modern design tradition, characterized by simple forms, organic textures, and glazes in natural tones.
